K.K. Bruno is the nom-de-plume of Karla Kraynak Bruno, a former classroom educator and librarian with more than 35 years of teaching and research to her credit.
A successful published author of historical fiction, she has been a frequent contributor of commentary to Virginia regional newspapers since 2006.
In a past life, she was a costumed interpreter for Colonial Williamsburg and an archeological interpreter for Historic Jamestowne.
A military child and spouse, Ms. Bruno reluctantly admits she was not born in Virginia -- but she got here as fast as she could.
Ms. Bruno earned a B.A. in English and an M.A.Ed from the College of William and Mary, as well as a Master's in Library and Information Science at the Catholic University of America.
When not engaged in Virginia history, Ms. Bruno writes grant proposals for a non-profit.
She reads, writes, and soaks up history in Alexandria, Virginia.
